Air Liquide provides CO2 membrane technology to Siemens Energy for FPSO project in an oil field offshore South America
- News
Siemens Energy has selected Air Liquide’s' CO2 Removal System for energy shipping company MISC Berhad (MISC) for a FPSO Project that will operate in an oil field offshore South America.
The CO2 Removal System will treat the associated natural gas onboard the FPSO which shall facilitate the removal of carbon dioxide (CO2). Air Liquide's “glassy” polymeric hollow fiber polyimide (PI) PIX membranes have been selected for this application. The PIX membrane has CO2 to CH4 selectivity, which results in recovering more hydrocarbons and lower operating costs. Air Liquide manufactures a comprehensive line of membrane products for natural gas and associated petroleum gas treatment.
Air Liquide offers robust, reliable and cost effective gas treatment solutions especially suitable for offshore platform and floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) applications where weight, footprint, and operational simplicity are paramount.
